While Art Basel was baseling away in the aesthetics of canvas and art at the convention center and Design Miami was delighting in interiors, BitBasel took over the Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach. This wasn’t just a quick one and done take over, the Sagamore was transformed into an artists Web3 playground of art, NFTs, blockchain and late night events that kept the conversations flowing.
We’ll give them something to talk about, because every year, Miami Beach transforms into an art enthusiast’s destination. It’s where visitors come from all over the world, to connect, discover, and maybe even buy some art. It’s a week of installations, art, capital, and code; inspiring a rare tech overlap that includes the crypto, tech and art community.
BitBasel ran from December 3-7th at the Sagamore Hotel on Collins Avenue, only a couple blocks away from the convention center. Convenient and walkable, in the heart of Miami Beach. This year’s theme was “Fingerprints of Humanity,” turning the beachside hotel into digital installations, talks, parties and networking.
The week included events such as Sea and Space Summit, featuring explorers, technologists, and artists. BitBasel week somehow blurred the art and crypto world as it intertwined with discovery and opportunity to connect. Blockchain meets canvas, where collecting can be multi-layered and there’s not always a physical piece; sometimes there’s an NFT showcase. Though, an art enthusiast can of course, take home both!
